Zayanderood is a river that originated from the Kouhrang Mountains and Chehel Cheshme which are located in the province of Chaharmahal Va Bakhtiari.

In the fountain of Zayanderood, there is Janan spring and after that, there is Chehel Cheshmeh. From the north side, there are also two big springs called Kharsang and Koudang that all of them are forming the River.

Zayanderood starts its movement with a high speed but little by little, it slows down. The climax of its beauty and glory can be seen in the Si-o-Se Pol; then this river reaches to the swamp of Gav-e Khouni little by little, with a slow speed and reposes there.

The bridges that situated on the Zayanderood’s bed

The first bridge that can settle on the full of ups and downs path of Zayanderoud, is the carriageway bridge of Vahid and after that, the historical and beautiful bridge of Marnan is situated. On the west side of it, there is the water park of Boustan-e Saadi which is an ideal place for children’s entertainment. After that you walk together with Zayanderood, you will reach to the next bridge, namely Felezi Bridge this is the oldest carriageway bridge that is located on the Zayanderood’s bed, which is opened in the year of 1338.
By taking a short path, you will reach Azar bridge this bridge is also a carriageway and opened in the year 1357 and also there are beautiful parks and gardens around it.

After the Azar Bridge, you can finally see the most beautiful, the longest, and the most special existing bridge in the Zayanderood’s bed, namely Si-o-Se Pol.

A bridge that on the west side of it, a possibility is provided that people could enjoy from the boating on the Zayanderood and in the west side of it, there are some stone benches that in case of lowering the water level, the Children and even the elders can go on it and enjoy from Zayanderood.

An interesting point about Zayanderood is that there are famous ice cream stores on both sides of this bridge that testing them is not ungrateful.

After Si-o-Se Pol, we reach the Ferdousi Bridge; a bridge that was opened in the year 1362 and is considered as one of the most important carriage-way bridges of Isfahan.

After that, we see a small and beautiful bridge, namely “Jouyi Bridge”, which is simple though but walking on it, can bring you a good mood for you. In the short distance from the Jouyi Bridge, there is a beautiful and majestic Khajoo bridge that some people start to sing at night.

Before reaching the next bridge, namely the Bozorgmehr bridge, you will arrive at the two important buildings, namely the house of Isfahan’s artists and the Khat museum that visiting from them is so enjoyable for the technician.

Then you will arrive at the Bozorgmehr Bridge that the main bridge is for the traffic of cars

. After that, the design of the gardens gets a little different and you’ll reach the last carriage- war bridge, namely Ghadir Bridge after passing it, you will arrive at a small island that in front of you is the last historical bridge of Isfahan, namely Shahrestan Bridge.

On the beach of Zayanderood, there are water mills. Zayanderood has delectable water and the palaces which are toward the river gave a special beauty to it.

in the east side of the river, the palace of Abdol Rahman Ebne Ziad and Abolfazl, and on the west side of the river, there are two communities of Zarkabad and Taje, that “Saghatoun”, good Attabi, baked clay, and other things can be obtained from them.

On the westernmost side of the river, the village of Marbanan has taken place that has a giant garden. Zayanderood originates from the two separated rivers; one from the Khanan and the other from the Feriden region.

“Elizabeth Macqueen Rooz”, the British tourist wrote in her itinerary with a point to the Bakhtiari region in the year of 1909 A.D:

“The biggest rivers of this region includes: Dez, Karoun and Zayanderood. Two rivers that were mentioned recently, which are originating from the Kouhrang, that one of them, namely Karoun is overflowing to the south side and there it pours in the Khalij-e Fars and the other (Zayandeh Rud) is also flows from the east to the Isfahan. The rivers of Dez and Karoun, open a way from inside the rocks with their pressure and continue to their way, in the bed of valleys with the depth of 4000 to 8000 feet.”
